Regional Engineer

Manage and monitor the daily workload of Technicians, installers, service persons and contractors to ensure work is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Will be working closely with Regional General Manager and Regional Office Manager to obtain the effective operations of the Central Region.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESStays current with advanced technical, advances. Help to ensure compliance with Rapid, NCTC, FCC standards.Responsible for necessary monthly reports as required.Prepare and manage to budget in order to control costs and help attain profit objectives. Conduct regular meetings with personnel to maintain two-way communication.Manage the coordination; organization, planning and implementation of workload to ensure technical standards and needs are met.Acceptance and/or verification of all invoiced materials and contract labor to include fiber, coaxial, hardware and end-to-end testing.Responsible for 24-hour a day Fiber and/or coordination of restoration response.Establish and develop staff through ongoing training program; i.e. work schedules, operational procedures, communications skills, policies and technical skills.Manage mainline and cable replacement activity.Ensure that vehicles and equipment are maintained and kept in clean and safe working condition and that personnel are instructed on their proper use.Assist in hiring, managing, training, and developing the technical personnel on system problems, service, repair, and FCC regulations.Ensure a team environment and an atmosphere, which promotes employee development.Assist in developing and administering the department-operating budget.Review technician performance annually.Prepare monthly productivity reports.

REQUIREMENTS:High School education required; Associates degree preferred.6-7 years cable industry experience.Knowledge of CATV system products and services and ability to perform duties from heights (i.e. poles, rooftops) Must know CATV, Fiber, Digital, and Internet (wired & wireless). VOIP a plus.Must possess valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.Strong communication and customer service skills essential. Travel required.Must be will to relocate to Clinton, IN area to work closely with Regional Manager.
