Regional Forensic Engineering Manager

Project Time & Cost, Inc. an international cost and forensic engineering firm is currently seeking a Regional Engineering Manager for the Los Angeles metro area.

 

Job Duties

 

As a Regional Manager, you will provide the necessary technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to the forensic engineering staff of Civil, Structural, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineers in your region to assure total quality of all engineering efforts. Other supervisory/management responsibilities will include carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining existing client relationships as well as new business development. You will also be responsible for meeting divisional marketing goals, revenue projections and client expectations. This is a hands-on working manager position where you will provide residential and commercial site investigations to determine the cause and origin of structural failures, damages or defects.  Investigate and assess damages due to catastrophes such as windstorm damage, hurricanes, floods and earthquakes. Provide detailed reports outlining the cause and origin of the damages to clients. You will have client interaction on a regular basis. You may also be called upon to provide expert testimony in a court of law.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering, PE license is a must and have supervisory/management experience preferably managing a staff of 5+ professionals.  Must have at least 5+ year’s practical experience with a proven supervisory track record. Forensic field or insurance industry background is a plus. Experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, high-rise and governmental facilities is required. Marketing experience is preferred. Demonstrated leadership and project management successes are expected. Must be willing to travel as necessary for natural disasters or catastrophes such as hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes etc.

Physical Working Conditions

· Must be able to work outdoors in the hot/cold weather conditions

· Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time

· Must be able to climb on roofs, ladders, attics and small crawl spaces

· Must be able to kneel, squat or bend

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
