Research Associate

RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, Center for Transportation and Logistics-AgeLab (multiple openings), to support current and new research projects. Research projects include studies on individuals' retirement planning, individuals' preparation to deal with natural disasters, health information and behaviors, and on-road and simulated driving studies to understand people's driving behaviors. Will conduct library research and statistical analysis; write background literature summaries; recruit subjects to participate in research studies; assist in running basic experimental studies both in the lab and in field locations; perform data entry; and support the AgeLab's print publications, on-line media, and outreach events.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree (master's preferred), a valid U.S. driver's license and an excellent defined driving history, and exceptional writing and personal communication skills. Must be comfortable working with experimental subjects and using technology. Ability to work independently and quickly learn new skills in a professional, fast-paced team environment would be ideal. Experience with SPSS or equivalent statistical program and a graphical editing package such as Photoshop preferred. Experimental work may require occasional early morning or evening hours.
