SUMMARY:  Apply geomechanical modeling techniques and tools to support oil and gas exploration and development, geologic carbon sequestration; analysis of underground structural stability and natural hazard assessment; participate in field work to characterize geologic structure and tectonics, active faulting, and neotectonics; develop reports including results of technical analyses and research results; interact with clients and develop new business.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  Requires a PhD in Geology, Geophysics, Mining Engineering or Geomechanical Engineering or MS and 3 years experience. Must have the ability to participate in investigations as part of a multidisciplinary team; ability to conduct quantitative modeling of geomechancial processes; proficient in the use of geomechanics software (e.g., ABAQUS, PFC2D/3D) and particularly discrete element modeling expertise is desired; good oral and written communication skills; experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus. A valid/clear driver’s license is required.
