Resident Engineer-Wastewater

Malcolm Pirnie, Inc. is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to work as part of our construction management team on a major public works project at Coney Island. Candidate must have a strong knowledge of construction and construction management practices. The position requires an individual who will manage and be responsible for all aspects the project, including scheduling, cost control, safety, and field inspection. Water and/or Wastewater Treatment related experience a plus. Responsibilities will include management and supervision of a 25+ person staff (both project field office and inspection), intense interaction and coordination of activities with client and regulatory personnel, conducting meetings, oversight of project records and documents, compiling and drafting reports, preparation and negotiation of change orders, review and approval of Contractor payments, and review and response to contractor and client correspondence. The ideal candidate shall have a minimum of 10 - 15 years experience working on large civil/environmental construction projects in the New York City area. Candidate must be a team player and have excellent communication and writing skills. Must be a self-starter, detail orientated, and also have strong organizational skills. Prior experience working for NYC Department of Environmental Protection a plus. B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management and New York State PE required.
