SR. HEALTHY AND SAFETY SPECIALIST

SUMMARY: Tetra Tech has various openings throughout the United States for Senior Health and Safety Specialists. Each successful candidate must possess an undergraduate degree in the sciences with a minimum of 10 years in consulting. A certification in industrial hygiene (CIH) and/or certification as a safety professional (CSP) is a plus. Candidate must have excellent knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements in General Industry, experience in conducting health and safety audits, development and implementation of compliance programs and best management practices in general industry. Candidate must also have hands on experience in developing and conducting training programs in support of compliance programs. Candidate must possess knowledge and experience in OSHA/NIOSH industrial hygiene sampling and analytical methods. Candidate will be responsible for business development, proposal preparation, conducting health and safety audits, and training. Candidate must be willing to travel and accept long term assignments.   QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Candidate must possess an undergraduate degree in the sciences and a minimum of 10 years in consulting to General Industry. Certification in Industrial Hygiene and/or Safety Practice CIH/CSP is a plus.    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as OSHA regulations. Ability to search for pertinent facts and data, analyze and evaluate information, and form accurate conclusions. Ability to speak effectively with other employees and clients.   MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.   OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Working knowledge of Windows-based personal computers and word processing and spreadsheet software.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
