Our client, a growing wind energy company is seeking a Senior-level Project Manager to work in the design and development of wind power projects.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
· Proven track record that demonstrates the ability to manage $5 million to $35+ million projects effectively, within budget and on schedule.
· Candidate must have a minimum of 6+ years experience in construction, on large commercial/multi-disciplined/complicated industrial, utility AND wind energy construction experience.
· Experience in wind energy, highway, roadwork, drainage and large commercial/industrial foundation and/or high voltage utility work.
· Knowledge of design of roads, foundations, high voltage overhead and underground electrical systems or substations is a plus.
· Demonstrated understanding of plans and specifications for civil and electrical work.
· Experience with computers preferably with knowledge of MS Office and MS Project.
· Effective written and oral communication skills.
· Steady work history is required.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Manage wind power projects from pre-bid and buyout through construction and final acceptance.
· Responsible for managing project team to successfully implement subcontracts and project schedules, ensuring compliance with the contract requirements and financial targets.
· Manage engineers, vendors, suppliers, customers and others throughout the design and construction phase of the project.
· Produce and maintain an overall project schedule, to include drawings, due dates and delivery dates in order to complete the project on schedule.
· Responsible to accurately and timely communicate the project status, including schedule, financial, risk assessment, quality, safety and other key areas.
· Responsible for successfully implementing and tracking quality control for the construction of the project, including roads, foundations, high voltage electrical works, substations and wind turbine erection.
· Mentor and develop project team members.
· Must be able to represent this firm professionally with clients, subcontractors and others.
· Must be willing to travel.
