STORMWATER CHIEF

 

Leads and supervises a staff of engineers and trades personnel engaged in the operation of the County’s stormwater infrastructure and design and construction of the County’s stormwater capital projects. Serves as the Program Administrator for the County’s Erosion and Sediment Control Program. Responsible for Management of the MS4 Virginia Pollution Discharge Elimination System (VPDES) permitting program and environmental programs such as the Erosion and Sediment Control, Chesapeake Bay Protection Act, Watershed Management and Protection, and Wetlands. Provides priority and direct support to the Mosquito Control Division in eliminating mosquito breeding areas. Provides direct support to Waste Management’s leaf collection program. Interfaces with the public regarding the County’s stormwater program. Work is performed under general supervision. Base salary $61,833 or higher commensurate with experience, qualifications; excellent benefits.

 

Requires bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in civil engineering, to include at least 3 years of project management experience, and some design and field experience, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a Virginia Professional Engineer license or eligible for licensing by comity in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Prefer certification as a Program Administrator for Erosion and Sediment Control through the Commonwealth of Virginia.
