Job Purpose:

Builds business by identifying and selling prospects; maintaining relationships with clients.

 

Responsibilities: 

  Develop new customers as well as maintain existing clients in metropolitan as well as state wide market by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.

  Account manager responsibilities include prospecting, target account development, product quotes, solution selling, and problem resolution. Expected to foster new business opportunities through the use of various strategies including, product introduction, account targeting, and the sales and marketing of value added services; to work closely with suppliers to market and sell new and current products. Identifies product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks. Responsible for working in office when necessary ( filling in for an inside sales representative when on vacation, illness, etc.)

Requirements:  Solid communication and presentation skills. Working knowledge of standard office products ie: MS Excel, Access, Word, Outlook.  Additional computer experience beneficial. Must be disciplined and have excellent time management skills. Expected to travel outside of the Kansas City metro area within an established territory of Kansas or Missouri (Limited travel required.)

 

Additional Positives: Do you have? A good understanding of mechanical design and process aptitude. Experience in marketing, and knowledge of,  bearings, power transmission, fluid power (both pneumatic and hydraulic), and material handling.
