OVERVIEW OF POSITION:Chevron Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Seismic Acquisition Specialists, located in Houston, Texas.This is a technical geophysical position to perform marine/land seismic acquisition services including; technical design, tender evaluations, contracting, and operations startup work.Qualifications:RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:• Design surveys, estimate costs and project timelines for various equipment configurations.• Evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts.• Set technical specifications, organize start-up meetings, manage third-party quality control of seismic, navigation and HES services and solve problems during field operations.• Design QC processing flows, provide technical oversight of vendors, and evaluate seismic quality.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:In order to be considered for this job, applicants must have:• Masters degree in Geophysics. Minimum acceptable experience of at least 5 years of marine seismic acquisition experience in lieu of a Masters degree.• HUET Certificate (or ability to obtain).• Willingness to work in remote locations and mobility to work around the world in various offices.• Ability to work independently representing Chevron interests on large projects.• Demonstrated ability to handle numerous projects at the same time.• Ability to align work activities with expectations and work with minimal supervision.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:In addition to the required qualifications, the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:• Experience working with acquisition vendors such as WesternGeco, PGS, CGGVeritas and others.• Experience working with processing vendors.• Experience using ProMax, Seisworks and MESA or equivalent products.• Mathematical ability to use theoretical equations and independently verify results from software tools.This is a safety sensitive position.NOTE: Resumes submitted in response to this job opening may be reviewed and processed for Chevron by independent service partners.
