Senior Engineer/Advanced Technical Engineer - Latin America Power Projects

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Provide strong project management skills and a keen understanding of power plant control philosophy.

Provide technical leadership, innovative thinking, and creative solutions to power plant control design challenges.

Effectively interface with customers and subcontractors to establish the required power plant control system designs.  Assume complete engineering responsibility for applicable project specifications.

Develop and preserve overall project schedules or the engineering, drafting, system assembly and verification, and software generation and verification.

Establish clear communications via customer meetings, written correspondence, and regularly issued status reports.

Control project costs within budgets.  Pursue and obtain customer change notices to compensate for project scope modifications.

Effectively contribute to the proposal generation activities.  Interpret customer specifications and prepare technical solutions (equipment, bill-of-material, system configuration diagram, technical compliance, and engineering estimates) for the Power Projects Pursuits group.  Support the Power Project Pursuits group with active customer negotiations, utilizing thorough knowledge of customer application requirements and organizations.

Develop "best-cost" solutions to meet customer needs.  Interface with Worldwide Supply Chain Distribution & Logistics Department, to specify the necessary equipment and/or engineering services.


This position requires a B.S. in engineering, with a minimum of five years experience.  Knowledge of power plant control processes and/or an understanding of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) products is essential.  Spanish communication skills (verbal and written are preferred.  Position requires 10% - 20% travel.
