Typical Duties and Responsibilities Provides technical support to HIB elements as requested or directed. Assignment will involve close working relations with HIB personnel with the objective of providing training and mentoring. Conducts reviews of Request for Proposal documentation for adequate inclusion of sufficient basic Drainage design requirements. Reviews conceptual Drainage design elements and other contractor submittals for compliance with accepted codes/standards/accepted practices, standardization goals, and quality program requirements. Also provides support to the Regional Project Managers on request. Solves many technical issues independently. Makes recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on engineering activities. Initiates and maintains extensive contacts with key engineers of the HIB housing organization as well as other organizations and companies. Such interactions require skill in persuasion and often negotiation of critical issues.Responsibilities for Direction of Others Often serves as expert technical advisor/trainer.Education PhD plus 3 - 5 years or MS plus 5 - 8 years or BS plus 7 - 10 years Experience and Qualifications  Needs familiarity with standard design deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions. Needs to have knowledge of nationally and internationally recognized Drainage related computer codes and applications plus extensive knowledge of standard Drainage engineering practices, techniques, and procedures along with broad knowledge of precedents in the Drainage area along with good knowledge of the practices of related disciplines. Good written skills are important. Position Title Senior Engineer – Drainage Registration Status PE
