Senior Hardware Developer

The Xbox Silicon Development team faces challenges of great technical complexity impacting a highly visible product in the consumer electronics space. We are looking for a Senior Hardware Developer to join our small, senior team that works on high-volume, high-visibility programs all the way from architectural inception through to mass production, and we are offering the opportunity to learn and grow in a variety of areas along the way. The experienced RTL verification engineer will be asked to lead component validation of IP used in our ASICs. This role requires leadership ability with a combination of hardware, software and debug skills. You will provide direction for the component/IP validation strategy, methodology, test plans, and implementations. The ideal candidate will bring with them a strong sense of what it takes to guarantee that ASIC cores function correctly. Responsibilities: You will be part of the core leadership team, working with the design lead and program manager. You will participate in the creation of an component validation framework which can be used to validate individual IP cores within a chip, as well as verifying the full-chip functionality, from the initial bring-up into production. For IP we acquire externally, you will be defining the component validation methodology and requirements with the external vendors. You will be responsible for component validation test plans, quality & completion metrics and methods for analysis, debug and root cause of test results. You will be responsible to create and debug software to validate architectural and design specifications within an existing kernel/test environment. Qualifications should include a minimum of 7 years of experience testing complicated IP/ASICs from simulation through component validation to production. A strong background in system architecture, C/C++ diagnostic software development experience and pre-silicon verilog simulation experience is required. Low-level software knowledge and knowledge of high-speed system interfaces and the equipment to test & debug these interfaces is a plus.
