Scope

Nokia has an immediate need for a highly resourceful Hardware Test Development Engineer to be responsible for testing and qualification of its Network Security products.

Responsibilities
Review new designs, product/board specs to develop hardware test strategies and test plans.
Develop test solutions that will provide highest test coverage, improve fault isolation, and eliminate field escapes.
Write UNIX/LINUX and TCL scripts to automate functional, burnin, and system level tests for new products.
Analyze, troubleshoot, identify root cause, and drive issues to closure with preventive measures.
Influence internal design and test processes, monitor yield reports, and make decisions based on RMAs to improve product quality.
Work with test fixture manufacturers to assist in design and development of test fixtures.
Plan, communicate and take ownership of projects in a fast paced environment, working as part of a team or individually.
Recommend product design changes to improve testability and test coverage.


BS/MS in EE, CS or equivalent.
7+ years test development experience in x86 Intel architecture, TCP/IP, switching fabric and networking layers.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Detailed knowledge of Unix, Linux & Windows environment
Extensive test software scripting experience in Tcl, Tk and Expect.
Ability to communicate and interface with HW/SW engineering groups to discuss test strategies and concerns.
Excellent programming skills in C, C++, as well as ability to review and modify or device drivers and diagnostics.

Nokia Corp. posted a 44% jump in fourth-quarter 2007 net profit as it outpaced rivals in the increasingly tough mobile-phone market.Strong sales in emerging markets helped boost 2007 net profit 44 percent in the period and saw the Finnish company capture more than 40 percent of the global handset market -- an all-time best and long-term goal. Total profits in 2007 reached 7.2 billion euros ($10.6 billion), up 67 percent from the year before, while sales jumped 24 percent to 51 billion euros ($74.8 billion), Nokia said. It sold 437 million handsets last year, 26 percent more than in 2006.
