This position uses a wide application of principle, theories, and concepts in the field plus a working knowledge of other related disciplines in providing imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. This position is responsible for: Provides conceptual and detailed designs of a complex nature. Performs research of applications, technologies and design alternatives for products.· Works with electrical engineers to develop new communications cabling system devices for commercial and residential uses. Verifies design and project objectives to customer, Leviton Network Solutions and ISO 9001 requirements. Performs verification and validation tests and analysis of designs to specific, detailed requirements. Assists product development engineers and CAD designers with product documentation. Assists product development engineers with prototype evaluation. Assists the product development engineers, and other departments as requested, with empirical analysis of products and processes in both new product development and sustaining of existing products in both mechanical testing and evaluations and electrical/RF testing and evaluations. Skills and Abilities Passive telecommunication product design experience. Electrical connector design, including injection molded plastic and contact design. Must have 3D CAD experience (prefer SolidWorks CAD experience). Must have FEA experience (prefer Cosmos).
