Senior Mechanical Engineer, Consultant
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience must include design of mechanical systems, development of construction specifications, and design calculations as related to mechanical and fire protection design work.
Licensed Professional Engineer
Working knowledge of precedents, industry standards, principles and practices in mechanical/fire protection engineering.
Design experence and familiarity with nuclear facilities, Engineering Division procedures/policies, and development of commercial grade dedications (CGDs).
Experience with Fire Protection and Mechanical System design.
Demonstrated communication and technical skills to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines, customer representatives, ES&H, QA, safety/authorization basis personnel.
Core competencies shall include nuclear, non-nuclear and industrial facility design, construction, modification, and testing; facility/equipment maintenance, plant operations; QA/QC; and safety/environmental regulation compliance.
Experience shall include experience with mechanical and fire suppression piping systems, HVAC, process controls, electronics, and power distribution.
The ability to obtain a DOE 'Q' clearance.
Experienced with the DOE procedures for controlling and processing Official Use Only (OUO) & Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI) information.
Recent experience in the development of commercial grade dedications (CGDs) for commodity items such as conduit, conductors and VCO Pressure Fittings.
Experience with DOE Standard 1066 Fire Protection Design Criteria.
Recent Design Experience with specifying UL Rated Firewall Penetrations.
Experience with Fire Protection and Mechanical System design modifications for Nuclear and Moderate Hazard Facilities.
Recent experience with the development of Functional Acceptance Criteria.
