Senior Mining Engineer

Marston is a full-service mining consulting organization comprised of Marston & Marston, Inc., Marston Environmental, Inc., Marston Canada, Ltd. and Marston International Pty. Ltd.  Since 1977, Marston has provided its wide range of services to mining companies, financial institutions, private investors, electric utilities and government agencies worldwide.  Marston is involved in a variety of projects including precious and base metals, industrial minerals and coal utilizing surface and underground mining methods.  Marston is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, with branch offices in San Antonio, Denver, Canada, and Australia.

 

Marston is currently looking for candidate with metals and/or coal experience to fill a full-time Senior Mining Engineer position in their Denver office.  The Senior Mining Engineer will be involved in a variety of mining projects in varying stages of development.  Project work will range from developing mine designs, production schedules, and cost estimates to due diligence and operational reviews.  This position will require the use of computers and mining related software.   In this position there is the potential for travel to other Marston offices within the U.S., Canada and international mine sites.  

 

This position requires the following qualifications:

 

·         Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mining Engineering or a related field

·         Minimum of 5 years industry and/or consulting experience

·         Registered Professional Engineer preferred

·         Thorough understanding of mining applications including geology, mine design, equipment selection, cost estimating, and report writing and the ability to analyze mining engineering projects and determine the appropriate actions needed.

·         High aptitude for effective and concentrated application of mining engineering computer tools on mine design and planning projects

·         Proficient in utilizing mine planning computer software and hardware

·         Experience with Whittle or other Mine optimization software is a plus

·         Experience with other mining software including Gemcom, Vulcan, Mincom, XERAS and XPAC is also a plus.
