Senior Process Engineer

Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC has four business units: Caustic Management Services, Process Technology Division, Gas Technology Products, and a plant in Tuscaloosa.

 

Gas Technology Products (GTP) designs and builds processing units for refinery, chemical and gas plants to remove H2S from hydrocarbon and air streams.

 

GTP has an immediate opening for a Senior Process Engineer to develop total gas processing solutions and expand the typical scope of supply of our core product lines to include up-stream and down-stream gas processing equipment.  Provide sales support by developing preliminary process designs; including budgetary and fixed price quotes for LO-CAT®, Sulfur-Rite® and The Eliminatorâ„¢ and their associated equipment.  Tasks that are involved in this process includes preliminary sizing / selection of equipment, projecting utility usage.Experience Strong process engineering background with an understanding of PFDs, P&ID’s and Valve and Instrument Lists.Good communication skills – written and verbal.A general understanding of the sales process.Computer Skills are a must

Qualifications Bachelor's degree (BS) in Chemical or Petroleum EngineeringMBA would be a plus (not required)Process simulation experience (ProMax, Hysis, ChemCad)10 - 20 years of professional work experience

RequirementsMaintaining knowledge base of current design criteria as used by Engineering Group.Keeping design forms for various products current and accurate for sizing equipment, estimating power and chemical costs.Preparation of gas treatment system designs and costs

Competencies Required Strong oral and written communications skillsAbility to lead without direct authority Superior people skills, especially with respect to networkingProven expertise with capturing, verifying and synthesizing dataKnowledge of common financial, accounting, and business practicesCurious and inquisitiveKnowledge of oil and gas processing technologies

Competencies Desired Experience with Stage-Gate development processesKnowledge of sulphur removal technologies and technology licensing

General

· Work is in the Schaumburg, IL (Chicago suburb)

· Travel as required, ~ 20 - 40%
