Senior Scientist for Information Exploitation

Applied Research Associates, Inc. Senior Scientist for Information Exploitation SED-168 Applied Research Associates, Inc., an international company of scientific engineering, is seeking leading researchers for our Raleigh, North Carolina office in the field of battle space information superiority to join our growing development team in this area. Applicants will have conducted pioneering research or have operational experience in one or more of the following areas of interest: (1) processing, exploitation, and management of current and emerging battlefield sensor assets; (2) multi-sensor and all-source information fusion; (3) data mining and inferencing technologies; (4) command and control and (5) next-generation information management technologies (e.g., intelligent agents, real-time decision support methods). Applied Research Associates, Inc. has an established presence in the information superiority arena, primarily as a premier developer of fielded mission-critical attack planning assessment tools for high-value WMD targets (including hard and deeply buried targets) and conventional warfare target analysis. These tools exploit our unique expertise in weapons effects, uncertainty analysis, and physics-based knowledge and approaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading experimentation initiatives in support of DoD agencies such as DTRA, DARPA, ONR, and NIMA. Specific responsibilities will include: a) Serving as a recognized expert to potential DoD customers b) Leading the performance of new information superiority work within the company c) Leading the development and submission of information superiority proposals d) Staying abreast of relevant state-of-the-art information superiority technologies and maintaining a proactive presence and leadership role in this field (e.g., by publishing and presenting papers at relevant conferences)       COMPANY INFORMATION: Applied Research Associates, Inc. is a rapidly growing technology services company with an excellent national reputation and a twenty-nine year history of sustained growth. Qualifications: · M.S. or Ph.D. degree in engineering, computer science, physics, information technology, operations research, or a related discipline · 5+ years of experience leading research and development in one or more of the information superiority technology areas described above (or a closely related area) · Strong proposal writing skills · Excellent oral and written communication skills · US citizenship (Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.) · Expertise in command and control systems, theater battle management systems, and/or Intel sensor systems/processes, as well as established relationships and recognition within DoD agencies (e.g., DTRA, DARPA, ONR, NIMA) is a significant plus.
