Senior Software Engineer
Software Engineers at the Barco Medical Imaging Division site in Beaverton, OR research, design, develop, debug, and document software including Windows Drivers, Linux Drivers, 3D Windows applications, and testing tools. We seek experienced engineers with an interest to develop software at both driver and application layers for the medical imaging market. The Software Engineers will work on small teams to complete new software projects and maintain existing products. They will work with QA engineers to test the software and will analyze and debug test results.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain driver and application software for Windows in C/C++.
- Debug problems found in new and existing products.
- Document or provide input for test plans and software specifications.
- Implement new features provided by product marketing.
- Participate in all of the stages of the software development life cycle.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- 5+ years experience of Windows programming.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills.
- Knowledge and experience in 3D/2D algorithms and graphics APIs.
- MS Visual Studio development and debugging environment.
- Experience in whole software product lifecycle.
- Knowledge of debugging methodologies and experience in debugging complex problems.
- Responsible to make and consistently meet project schedules and milestones.
- Ability to work independently and manage time according to current priorities.
- Good communication skills with a wide variety of cultures and personalities.
- Ability to handle both long and short term tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work with other software developers in small teams.
- Experience in design and development of application software. Preferred Abilities and Knowledge
- MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Knowledge of object oriented design principles and comfort with programming in OO environment.
- Experience of Windows programming in a kernel environment.
- Linux application and/or kernel development.
- Parallel programming education or experience.
- GPU programming experience.
- WinDbg or equivalent debugging experience, including kernel mode debugging.
