DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

The candidate will be responsible for producing conceptual designs that will be used to develop products in the area of trace vapor detection of explosive compounds.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 Five (5) years of relevant experience.Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Excellent communications skills (verbal and written).  Ability to write technical reportsStrong computer skills, MS-Office.Must be willing to travel to achieve goals.Proven ability to lead an engineering team and relate well to external customers (military interface a plus).Ability to develop and compile ideas and concepts into a coherent written proposal.Ability to define system requirements and detailed specifications given a loosely defined concept.Ability to develop a detailed project schedule and to track and update same during the life of a project.Knowledge and demonstrated application of troubleshooting techniques.Ability to monitor a projects financial condition and adjust variables of the project work plan in order to achieve goals within schedule and budget.Demonstrated eagerness to learn new things and push for improvements.Strong prototyping ability.US citizenship and ability to obtain government clearance.

PREFERENCES:Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Ability to safely operate standard machine shop equipment:  lathe, end mill, drill press, etc.Two (2) years of 3D CAD Modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred).Finite Element Analysis Experience, especially in the area of structural analysis or fluid dynamics.Knowledge of Ion Mobility Spectrometry.Experience designing hand-held sensing equipment.
