HONEYWELL OPPORTUNITY - Senior Technical Program Manager - Freeport, IL or Columbus, OH

 

 

The Sensing and Controls Division of Honeywell is seeking a full time, experienced senior level Program Manager to join our Global Technology team. The Program Manager is accountable for the execution and delivery of all aspects of business critical programs such as the development of new technologies/products. Superior knowledge and experience with the introduction of New Products into the revenue stream, transition of new product launches from regionally-based global engineering design centers into remote factories and/or third party manufacturers. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

 

Demonstrated excellent leadership ability. Must have a high level of self initiative to drive overall business results for the program.

 

Superior communication skills. Must have demonstrated ability to communicate strategically with executive leadership.

 

Exceptional skill in scoping and authoring robust, detailed program/project plans, including driving team adherence to schedules, budget and technical requirements.

 

Experience with earned value methodology of project monitoring and control.

 

Experience using and conforming to structured business processes, such as stage gated new product development process.

 

 

Demonstrated skills in clear, precise communication with external customers.

 

Solid understanding of business finance, specially related to investment and returns on product development programs.

 

The desired candidate has successfully managed multiple, multi-million dollar, product development projects with cross-functional/global teams.

· The Program Manager will clearly understand the fundamental business plans underpinning the project, and will clearly articulate the key elements of the plan.

 

· The Program Manager will coordinate and provide focus to drive project activities for teams of highly skilled engineers and support functions located around the world to develop products faster, more reliably and more cost effectively than our competition.

 

· The Program Manager is fully responsible for managing project data in the portfolio database and owns the review of projects at regular intervals with business leadership.

 

The Program Manager will be able to successfully orchestrate several product launches simultaneously.

 

* The Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of product development from planning to implementation, including:

- Collaboration with marketing, product management, sales, and engineering to gather voice of the customer data to generate crisp product requirements for new product introduction;

- Regularly interfacing with OEM customers to validate requirements and track development progress;

- Developing, tracking and analysis of critical program parameters to improve product development processes and quality; and

- Identifying opportunities to creatively leverage current designs to accelerate development schedules and reduce project risk.

Basic Qualifications:

-BS degree in Engineering is preferred

-BA/BS degree in Math, Physics, or Material Science.

-Minimum of 5 years previous experience in a product development Program Manager role

-High level communication skills

-High level of proficiency in MS Office applications.

- Must be an expert at using MS-Project for thorough, detailed project planning.

-Experience with using stage gated product development processes is a must.

-Willingness to travel nationally/internationally up to 25%.

 

Additional Qualifications:

-Additional Program/Project Management education preferred

-PMP Certification is highly desirable

-Experience in formal design/quality methodologies such as Six Sigma - Six Sigma certification preferred

-Past work experience with sensor technology development or in multiple industries / functions is a differentiator
