This person needs to be highly competent in industrial biological wastewater treatment, well known and broadly respected by strategic clients, and nationally or internationally within the wastewater professional community. Desirable biological subject matter expertise includes: anaerobic and aerobic suspended, attached and hybrid growth systems, biological modeling, and air emissions estimating from biological wastewater treatment systems. Additionally this person should also have a limited working knowledge of chemical/physical treatment systems associated with biological wastewater treatment systems.The ideal candidate will lead both client development through strong leadership of the core CH2M HILL team and by successful delivery of water and wastewater projects. The engineer must have demonstrated consulting project execution success on permitting, consulting, studies and design projects for industrial clients in the petrochemical, oil& gas/refining, and chemical industries. As the senior technical consultant on biological treatment projects, the successful candidate must demonstrate industry, subject matter and service expert with expertise in our water/process market, business, operations and project delivery process and objectives. Responsibilities include ensuring the best technical and business solutions for our client and integrating industrial, subject matter and service expertise, providing front line to risk management for our company. Services supported include water/wastewater technology, permitting and compliance. The ideal candidate will also be versed in air quality and related permit/compliance issues.It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be designated as a Principal Technologist, becoming a technical leaders for the firm within the water/process community. Core functional area responsibilities are as follows:• Attract, develop, and retain technical talent.• Ensure quality of projects and efficiency of project delivery.• Create market domination and differentiation.• Capture technology innovation to value price, shape markets, and grow.• Partner to implement the technology mission and shape CH2M HILL strategies.QualificationsEducation: MS Civil, Environmental or Chemical EngineeringYears of Experience: 15 yearsPrimary Skills: Biological wastewater treatment technology (e.g. anaerobic and aerobic attached, suspended and hybrid growth systems), chemical/physical wastewater treatment technology and general industrial water systems technology as applied to chemical, petrochemical and refining, client development skills, and strong written/verbal communications. Familiarity with biological treatment models including but not limited to: Biowin, Hydromantis, Water 9, and Toxchem.
