Sensor Systems Engineer

Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, or related scientific field and at least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent. Good communications and analytical skills; working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Work Experience Field: At least five years specific experience in DoD ship engineering support, design/engineering, new construction, and/or fleet maintenance programs is required. HM&E/electronics/total ship platform background is required. Program experience in DoD Acquisition programs is desired. Submarine shipboard experience, and experience in the design, development, and operation of current Submarine Acoustic systems is highly desired.Special Skills: Organizational skills, personnel leadership and management skills, and excellent inter-personal skills. Outstanding written and oral skills, with the ability to communicate and understand ship and system acquisition concepts. Possess the ability to work with systems engineers to facilitate engineering and acquisition related efforts within various Program Executive Office Submarines and Naval Sea Systems Command program offices are needed. PC skills include standard Microsoft Office suite operations. Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level security clearance. Job Description : Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the management, planning, and coordination of technical and engineering support efforts for the Towed and Hull Sensor Systems Engineering branches (PMS4011/4013). At a minimum, efforts will include engineering support requirements research and analysis; documentation, correspondence, and report generation; act as program office liaison to identify and resolve design and logistics issues; conduct life cycle planning; perform technology insertion analysis; perform general administration and program management tasks as directed. The position requires participation in and supervision of activities and tasks across Towed and Hull Sensor systems and array handling equipment. Daily interface with the PMS4011/4013 Chief Engineers, systems engineers, field activity engineers, and other support contractors is expected. Involvement in Logistics, Acquisition, and Contract development areas for all systems is required.Xurs09X : : EOE M/F/D/V
