Servo and Motion Control Solutions Specialist

MEAU is seeking a Servo and Motion Control Solutions Specialist to be responsible for business development of servo and motion control applications using a system solution approach – provide sales and technical support for key and target accounts- participate in cross functional teams that will develop and support motion solutions for a variety of applications across several target industries such as packaging, material handling, semiconductor, machine tool, printing and others – Possesses and applies broad technical knowledge of Servo and Motion Control to our target industries- create and maintain strategic industry and customer–specific action plans in coordination with MEAU and MELCO –Japan. Works with limited supervision and typically operates with great latitude for independent judgment and decisions. Duties include substantial variety and complexity. Support and contribute to achieve organizational sales goals.
Position Duties and Responsibilities
· Create a center of competency for servo and motion control solutions within the MEAU organization.
· Work closely with MELCO Japan to share technical information related to motion products and application solutions in an effort to increase knowledge within MEAU and expand sales opportunities in the Americas.
· Coordinate with MEAU Product Marketing, Marcom and Tech Support to develop technical materials and share knowledge related to servo and motion products and application across a variety of industries, in an effort to improve the technical competency of all MEAU IA Sales, Marketing Division staff members, channel partners and major direct OEM engineers.
· Work closely with MEAU Sales and Marketing management to determine the appropriate target customers across several industries – including F&B / Packaging, Material Handling, Semiconductor, Machine Tool, Printing and many other general purpose industries
· Work closely with MEAU Strategic Account Managers, Product Marketing personnel, and MELCO to “link” industry application requirements and Mitsubishi product solutions.
· Create and maintain industry and customer action plans in coordination with MEAU and MELCO. Report market size, density, trends and make recommendations regarding the Americas motion industry to management.
· Closely monitor all key and target account activity-assist with developing solutions and/or solving technical problems.
· Work with MEAU Sales and Marketing management to develop plans for increasing sales and market share of servo and motion control products.
· Develop and implement servo and motion certification courses for MEAU IA personnel, channel partners and system integrators.
· Study of competitor information, detailed competitor analysis and product testing, and report the results to management, MEAU IA technical personnel and customers.
·Provide support to the sales personnel through monthly communication, webinars, sales and technical presentations. Provide telephone and on-site sales and technical support for key and target accounts.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities
· This individual must display leadership characteristics, must motivate other individuals and take the responsibility for the development of servo and motion control technical experts.
Travel Requirements
· 25-35% domestic travel and occasional international travel.
Essential Education, Skills and Experience
· BS in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
· 7-10 years of engineering experience or equivalent involving motion control product lines, applications, and projects.
· Knowledge of Automation products is required- Servo, Motion Control, PLC and open and closed loop VFD’s.
· Knowledge of Ladder Logic, flow charts, Industrial programming techniques and SFC programming with Motion controller products.
· Knowledge of various communication platforms such as Ethernet, Device Net, CC Link, SSCNET and Profibus Networks.
· Knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics as related to the total machine control is required.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a team approach.
· Knowledge and experience with Microsoft OS, Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Project.
· Strong Organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including technical writing and presentation skills.
· Proficient in general business office procedures and capable of prioritizing work flow.
· Good knowledge of servo and motion business strategy.
· Written communication-preparations of quotes, manuscripts, speeches, detailed plans, letters, and policies. Beneficial Education, Skills and Experience
· Experience in automation products preferred.
· Bachelor’s in Engineering, Marketing, Business or motion technical experience preferred.
· Experience in engineering or application support – a definite plus!
· Proficiency in MS Access, MS Project and CRM is a plus.
· C++ and Visual Basic programming knowledge.
