Site Engineering Director-Aerospace

Responsibilities: The Engineering Site Director is accountable for ensuring that all products designed at the Clearfield site comply with customer and internal ATK requirements. The Engineering Site Director is also accountable to ensure that all products fabricated at the Clearfield site meet or exceed contract technical requirements. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the development and demonstration of new product and equipment technologies that will distinguish ATK from the competition and enable us to capture new business. The Engineering Site Director is responsible for meeting Direct/Indirect Cost Performance Index (CPI), and goals for the entire engineering department. Guiding the group to continue along a continuous improvement path utilizing process improvement methods/tools is an integral portion of this position. Lead and mentor nine groups of Engineering at the Clearfield site of the ATK Aerospace Structures Division. Requirements: BS Engineering required 20 years of Engineering/Management experience (combined experience in rocket motor and composite structures design, analysis, and fabrication). Experience using problem solving techniques Must have demonstrated the ability to coach and mentor senior level engineering personnel. Must have the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Demonstrated ability to review and approve complex composite structure designs. Experience guiding and overseeing technical development programs and research and development programs Experience managing direct and indirect budgets for a large department (over thirty employees) Experience managing other department managers, setting objectives, and obtaining resultsAddition but not required Failure Analysis Board experience preferred. MS preferred, MBA preferred Training in process improvement methods (PES, LEAN, Six Sigma) is preferred. Manger Review Board (MRB) experience preferredATK is on the move.
