Position Description:Job Description:This position will be a key member of the Integrated Business Products Group (IBP), ESG’s new startup development product organization. IBP is part of LSI’s strategic plan to increase the value of our product offerings by providing more complete solutions to the business problems the customers and users of ESG storage are trying to solve.Responsibilities include the design, development and delivery of storage software focused components and applications. Work within a location-diverse team developing IBP’s customer focused, value-add solutions to ESG’s storage product portfolio. Work effectively with multiple internal groups, external partners such as ISV’s and end customers to understand and deliver on product requirements and priorities. Work with technical architects to refine high-level requirements, consult/advise on feature sets and provide alternative recommendations that balance technical limitations with IBP’s product objectives. Must have experience with software version control systems, builds, and release management tools. Other desired qualities are strong personal motivation and a willingness to demonstrate a high sense of urgency while working within the larger team in a start-up environment. Must have a history of being a technical role model including engineering excellence and integrity. Must have experience working with management, team colleagues and partners to assign and track development tasks, and to ensure that aggressive schedules and quality goals are met. Must have strong teamwork skills, the ability to technically coach and mentor less experienced teammates and possess the ability to maintain high morale within the IBP organization. Occasional travel may be necessary to attend internal and customer meetings.Requirements/Qualifications:• Bachelor or Master Level in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering• A technical background with 5+ years in storage software engineering design and development• Knowledge in software version control systems, builds and release management tools• Demonstrated expertise in storage application APIs, XML, HTML, Java, C, C++, UML & OO methodologies• Knowledge of OS (priority on Microsoft and Linux) software stacks from application level down through driver level• System level SAN knowledge and File System knowledge a strong plus• Experience with RAID, SCSI, SATA, SAS, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel storage technologies• Experience in storage engineering and data storage software management technologies and applications• Excellent reasoning and complex problem solving skills and creativity• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, comprehension and presentation)• Demonstrated excellent debugging abilities• Highly motivated, self-starter with the desire and ability to work in a start-up, fast-paced environment• Ability to work within a Rapid Prototyping and Rapid Development processA definite plus:• Experience in storage based applications and technologies such as Microsoft Exchange, Oracle databases, Symantec and similar ISV end-customer applicationsThis position can be filled in any of the LSI locations including Wichita, KS, Austin, Tx, Norcross, Atl, Boulder or Colorado Springs, CO. or Milpitas, CA.
