The Timing, Test and Measurement Division of Symmetricom is looking for a Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer(SQA) to join our team in Santa Rosa, California.

 

Responsibilities:Develop and implement methods of testing, troubleshooting and debugging software intensive electronics and related products. This includes embedded and application software.Work with the design team to create System Verification test procedures. Execute these procedures during the product development cycle. Document the results of all product qualification testing.Analyze test results to ensure functionality and recommend corrective action, as necessary.Prepare test and diagnostic programs, design test fixtures and specify test equipment.Provide feedback in preparation of product User Guides.

 

Essential Qualifications:Minimum of BSCS/BSEE degree or equivalent experience.Minimum of 5 years of industry software/firmware testing experience.Knowledge of current industry standard software development practices.Thorough knowledge of current industry standard software testing practices.Experience developing automated tests with at least one software testing tool (WinRunner, QTP, etc.) or scripting language (Python, Perl, Tcl, etc).Must be able to work productively with design engineers in the testing of new products.Comfortable working in scientific engineering environment.Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Desired Qualifications:MSCS/MSEE degree.Previous experience using QuickTest Professional to test a graphical user interface.Previous experience testing measurement applications in a Linux environment.Knowledge of the UNIX/LINUX operating system and TCP/IP networking.Knowledge of web technologies.
