Oerlikon Leybold Vacuum USA Inc. in Export, PA has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Solutions Applications Engineer.  Qualified candidates must possess a B.S. degree in technical related discipline required along with 5 years of product management experience in vacuum technology, working knowledge of personal computer and Microsoft Office software, excellent oral and written communication skills, electrical components knowledge preferred, process industry knowledge preferred, and overnight travel is required, up to 30%.

 

Individuals will develop and maintain technical performance knowledge for the standard and customized vacuum systems portfolio offered by Leybold. Supports vacuum systems sales via the sales channels. 

 

Current responsibilities include:

 Specifies equipment, generates sizing information using tools such as LeyCat, coordinates estimates, and provides support to sales/marketing in the preparation of customer quotes.Investigate customer application issues for new and existing problems in order that acceptable solutions can be evolved, using a scientific approach with an emphasis on fundamental understanding.Develop solutions to process related issues as well as guidance on current and future developments in the all vacuum process areas. Provide technical support for sales opportunities with key accounts as requested by sales and marketing management.  Includes technical presentations, seminars, and customer training. Through technical expertise, provide support for applications of the range of vacuum products such that sales may be maximized and the Company’s reputation in the market place enhanced.Works with Market Segment Managers to promote sales through media promotions, trade shows, demos, special stocking, etc.Coordinate vacuum system order entry, ensuring clear compliance to the technical and commercial requirements of customer specifications. Ensure that knowledge and understanding of customer processes, and specific issues pertaining to the application of products to the customers’ technology, is communicated to all relevant functionsCoordinate translation of Market Segment Manager’s system business plans into design projects and inventory support requirements.

· Interfaces with America’s Solutions Manager regarding the transfer of product information as related to vacuum system offerings.

· Directs designers

· Directs shop personnel

· Field troubleshooting and commissioning of systems
