We have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Construction Manager to work on a major expansion of Delhi’s International Airport, which will make it the largest in the Middle East.  In its first phase it will handle more than 37 million passengers every year, and the new A380 aircraft.  A significant part of the work is a new integrated passenger terminal which will include 130 check in counters, advanced baggage handling and security systems, restaurants, duty-free and other shops, and communication centers for business travelers.  The constructed value of the project is approximately US$2 billion.  PB’s task is to overview the Design-Build contractor, reporting to the client on the management of the project.

 

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, at least 15 years experience including demonstrated skills in successfully managing the construction of large airport infrastructure projects for landside facilities, including terminal buildings.  Airport facilities experience must be comprehensive and recent.  The position also requires the ability to move around a construction site unaided.

 

The principal duties are overall construction management of all aspects of the work for the new terminal building, reporting to the Project Director.  This will include overall management, interface with clients at a senior level, management of contractors and consultants, master scheduling and cost control, and turning over the completed facility for operation and maintenance.

 

This is a renewable multi-year contract position on either a married or single basis, with generous terms including accommodation, tax equalization or protection, tax return preparation, medical insurance, car and driver service, meals at work, international medevac, vacation flights home or to elsewhere in the world, and a very competitive salary.
