Sr. Designer/Drafter

High school graduate with technical training or trade school some college experience would be preferred. At least 10 years experience in a fast paced prototype and fabrication environment is desirable. At Least years experience using Microsoft Excel, Autocad and or Solid Works CAD software required Job Description : The qualified individual will be responsible for preparing plans and detail drawings using CAD software in both 2-D and 3-D solid model format using Solid Works and Autocad software of the most recent versions. He/She shall be able to generate BOM's, detail drawings, orthographic projections, sections and views for single part and assembly drawings. The individual shall also be able to work with solid models to generate renderings and graphic for reports and manuals. He/she will consult with the engineering staff and customer for guidance and prepare new designs and concepts based on this input. The individual shall be able to support the design of large structures and small component hardware manufactured in metals and plastics. He/she should be familiar with material corrosion and chemical conversion coatings. The individual should be able to perform with a minimum of instructions and apply basic engineering design principals. Must be familiar with basic design and engineering tolerances and practices. Must be able to develop documentation to 'Best Commercial Practices'. Must have a basic knowledge of DOD-D-1000, MIL-T-31000 and ANSI Y-14.5 with respect to dimensioning and tolerancing. This is a PART TIME position, the individual shall be able to work during the hours of 0800 and 1600 as necessary.
