Sr. Development Engineer (D10567-0308I)

- - PURPOSE:Provide immediate group leadership in developing and calibrating SCR model-based controls.Provide advanced engineering support to develop and facilitate the production of other new and/or improved diesel engine products or derivatives thereof. Work with others to resolve problems at customer, supplier or manufacturing sites related to the design of diesel or derivative engine and aftertreatment components, systems and/or their functional behavior. Supervision available for unusual situations.REQUIREMENTS: 1. Understand and provide direction to aftertreatment and performance and emissions groups regarding development and calibration of SCR model-based controls.2. Analyze moderately complex problems and job assignments in preparing project plans.3. Formulate project plans aimed at developing new diesel or derivative engine and aftertreatment configurations, models, components, systems, ratings or resolving problems associated with these.4. Develop project plans and obtains management concurrence.5. Schedule time according to established job priorities.6. Monitor work progress and resolves problems in order to ensure timely completion of projects.7. Complete project work, draws conclusions and makes recommendations.8. Approve, define and request the release of new or improved products (controls, configurations, models, options, ratings) enabling the scheduling, procurement, manufacture, assembly and test of these products.SUPPLEMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: 1. Provide management with regular reports on project work plans and status for information and resource management purposes.2. Maintain a neat workplace and organized information pertaining to project work assignments.3. Maintain a daily record of work hours by job number for budgeting and auditing purposes per published instructions.4. Performs special projects. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):'' Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related field'' At least seven years experience in a manufacturing environment involving engine and/or aftertreatment controls development and calibration, testing, trouble shooting, and failure analysis'' At least two years project management or supervisory experience'' Highly effective interpersonal skills, travel (domestic and foreign), outstanding leadership skills'' Proficiency in Microsoft Office BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED):'' Ph.D in engineering or related field'' Previous experience in a large diesel engineering design and manufacturing company RESPOND HERE!
