Scope of Position:

Materials and process development for high-technology products in the Specialty Materials Division of Corning Incorporated. Become a subject matter expert in materials design and properties control.  Develop fundamental understanding of the implications to product attributes and performance, and impact to final application.  Work across boundaries (internal and external) to accomplish project goals. 

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on technical support to glass and glass-ceramic based product development projects. 

• Design and conduct experiments; analyze and interpret data. 

• Manage and integrate a variety of tasks (including work from other departments) to assure successful completion according to project timeline. 

• Assist with transfer of new technologies into Manufacturing. 

• Assist with bringing new technologies from Research into Development, and defining the appropriate product and process applications.

• Document and present findings to technical audiences.
