Sr. Instrument Engineer - Oil and Gas

The general scope of work for Instrument Engineers at AMEC Paragon are sizing relief valves, control valves, meters and other in line instruments, preparing instrument data sheets, instrument index and SAFE charts or cause and effect drawings, preparing instrument and control philosophy documents and block diagrams, preparing specifications for instruments systems such as process and safety controls, fire and gas system, ESD system, and metering, preparation of Bid documents (RFQ’s), bid analysis, vendor selection and vendor data review, preparing instrument system wiring diagrams and cable schedules.

Responsibilities
• Working knowledge of US and International codes and standards (API, ISA, IEC, NFPA etc.)
• Experience in sizing relief valves, control valves, meters and other in line instruments.
• Experience in preparing instrument data sheets, instrument index and SAFE charts or cause and effect drawings
• Experience in preparing instrument and control philosophy documents and block diagrams.
• Experience in PLC and DCS systems (specification, equipment selection etc.)
• Experience in preparing specifications for instruments systems such as process and safety controls, fire and gas system, ESD system, and metering
• Experience in preparation of Bid documents (RFQ’s), bid analysis, vendor selection and vendor data review.
• Experience in preparing instrument system wiring diagrams and cable schedules.



Requirements
BS degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 10+ years experience is desired. PE registration is a plus. Engineering course work should include basic electrical engineering, instrumentation and controls subjects. Some experience in designing instrument and controls design for oil and gas production, transportation and storage facilities is required.
