Sr. MTS Design Engineer CA 3396

Qualified Design Engineer will be responsible for system-level design and implementation of future Multi-Gigabit PHY IC products.Daily operational duties include, but are not limited to, developing system specification based on product specifications, developing and optimizing digital communication system models including impairment.  Experience in the development of high frequency (RF) adaptive equalization circuits is required.  Excellent digital communication theory background, experience developing DSP-based communication systems, excellent documentation skills, experience in developing frequency and time domain system models, respect for process and methodology.  Detailed understanding of Ethernet physical layer is strongly desired.  Understanding of coding theory and its application (Viterbi, Reed-Solomon error correction codes, Low Density Parity Check, etc.).  Proficiency in MATLAB, ADS, C++.  Proficiency in high frequency measurement techniques and correlation to theory.  Areas of expertise include VHDL and Verilog Implementation for FPGA and ASIC, Signal Processing and Architecture Selection and Simulations.  BSEE, MSEE+ strongly preferred with 5+ years of experience.  WORK LOCATION: Camarillo, CA or Austin, TX.  Vitesse Semiconductor offers a competitive salary and immediate, comprehensive benefits package.
