The Process Technology Division is the worldwide leading licensor of technologies and supplier of engineering and modularized equipment solutions for caustic treating light and middle distillate hydrocarbons to remove H2S, CO2, COS, RSH and/or naphthenic acids.



 

Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC has four business units: Caustic Management Services, Process Technology Division, Gas Technology Processes, and a plant in Tuscaloosa. 

 

Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Process Technology Division

 

This position requires 10+ years experience in Mechanical Design Engineering and a BS degree in mechanical engineering.  Candidate must have experience with designing pressure vessels (ASME Sec. VIII, Div 1 with working knowledge of Compress or PVElite software), rotating equipment and heat exchangers.  Candidate should be familiar with ANSI and API codes.  Must be able to read P&ID’s, mechanical drawings, and isometrics.  Skid/modular system design is a plus (according to ASME B31.3).  Prefer experience with structural calculations, pipe stress analysis and Finite Element Analysis.  Plant experience is desired but not required.  Metallurgy experience is a plus.  Willing to work overtime if needed.  Self-starter that matches qualifications.  Travel is less than 10%.
