Senior Mechanical Engineering Analyst

 

Gentex Corporation, an internationally recognized leader in the design and manufacture of sophisticated military life support systems, has an immediate opening for an analyst.

 

The successful candidate will possess a B.S. in a technical field and at least five years of computational mechanics and FEA (finite element analysis) experience.  This position requires proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as finite element analysis, preferably NASTRAN and PATRAN, and knowledge of classical lamination theory. 

 

The Senior Mechanical Engineering Analyst will:

 Be responsible for the development and use of models and simulations for assessments involving helmet design.

 Identify, obtain, adapt, and/or devise appropriate algorithms and databases, consequently implementing them as needed.

 Be responsible for mechanical design for strength/impact/comfort, system layout, and related special projects.

 Provide general leadership, in guiding planning that relates to mechanical elements of helmet systems.

 Be involved in coordination with interdisciplinary engineering teams to infuse mechanical design requirements and features, establishing viability of overall design approach, and guide planning and/or directions.

 Be responsible for design work, ranging from conceptual studies, system trade analysis, design generation, design trouble shooting, to detailed design and hardware procurement.  Materials involved include composites, plastics, and metals.

 Interact daily with Management, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Production, Customers, and Vendors.
