We are seeking a Sr. Programmer Analyst 2 Portal in our IT department in Piscataway, NJ whose main responsibilities are definition, development, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise web presence using Portal technologies. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

 

• Lead portal projects and is also responsible for the following: Architecting and designing applications and developing robust software solutions in Internet / E-commerce environments in a variety of architectures and technologies.

 

• Object Oriented S/W development, and Portal Development.

 

• Communicating and collaborating with other team members by creating requirements and design documentation and working with project to help define elements of the project plan.

 

• Design and Development of portals using Vignette Application Portal.

 

• Implementing industry best practices and staying up to date on emerging trends in order to implement these when appropriate.

 

• Interaction with all levels of staff, both within IT and other business units.

 

• Prepare and hold technical and business presentations; maintains awareness of new technology; participates in product evaluations, and provides recommendations and problem solving in a complex software environment.

 

• Manage projects or assist other project managers in successful implementations of software project deliverables.

 

• Participates in the evaluation of new software packages, techniques and development tools providing recommendations to management.

 

• Maintains an awareness of new hardware/software and communications developments, with an eye toward their use in systems development at the IEEE.

 

• Participates in educational, professional and industry activities related to programming and systems analysis. 

 

• Communicates developments in these fields to appropriate personnel. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

 

• A minimum of 3-5 years programming experience utilizing Vignette Application Portal, J2EE technologies, Java, JSP, EJB's, JMS, JNDI.

 

• A minimum of 3 -5 years experience in architecting solutions for Portal applications.

 

• A minimum of 3-5 years working on medium to large projects.

 

• Requires hands on programming experience, in Java / J2EE and PL/SQL environment, and integrating and interfacing various applications.

 

• Good analytical skills, communication skills and prior experience leading projects required.

 

• Experience with project life cycle, including design, development, testing, data conversion, system interfaces, and customization, UAT, implementation and production support.

 

• Experience in OLAP tools like Business Objects, Analytics, etc. desired.

 

• Knowledge of Siebel OLTP and OLAP data structures desirable.
