Senior QA/QC Manager

 

Our client is a leading provider of technology-based project solutions to the upstream oil and gas market, both onshore and offshore. The company supports projects in various areas, including oil and gas processing, LNG regasification, deepwater and gasification/syngas. Services include technical and commercial feasibility studies, conceptual and front-end engineering design, detailed engineering, procurement, construc­tion, and project management. They are currently looking for a Senior QA/QC Manager for their office in the Westchase Area.

 

 

Duties:

Manager, Senior – QA/QC, reporting to the Vice President Supply Management, plans, coordinates, and directs all vendor surveillance activities to ensure delivery of materials and equipment, on schedule and in accordance with specifications, quality requirements and terms and conditions of awarded purchase orders

 

 

Skills & Abilities Requirements:Level II QA/QC rating with 10+ years experience; Successful candidate will be required pursue and complete ASNT Level III certification program Analyze, and interpret equipment drawings/specifications, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations Write reports, business correspondence, and operating procedures and guidelines Effectively perform QA/QC presentations to potential clients, respond to questions form managers, company executives, clients and the vendor Must have computer skills commensurate with latest software common systems Maintain and efficient, effective QA/QC department and the ability to strategically staff the group, recruiting competent personnel capable of meeting the required standards of performance Must have good communication and leadership skills to be recognized by subordinates and peers as the head for all QA/QC company activities

 

Specific Functions:In conjunction with discipline engineer, creates and implements inspection criteria, procedures and Project Inspection Plan (PIP) Interprets QA/QC philosophy for the procurement of materials and equipment in conjunction with discipline engineer Devises and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting vendor quality surveillance data Develops and implements methods and procedures resolution of non-conformance reporting and disposition of discrepant material Interfaces with procurement, engineering, client and vendor to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems and/or concerns Maintains a working and thorough knowledge of the latest ASME, API, AWS, AISC, TEMA and NDE codes as well as new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products Reviews and approves vendor welding procedures prior to release for use of fabrication process Attends pre-award meetings and vendor kick-off meetings Must be proficient in X-Ray interpretation Shares accountability with Manager of Procurement and Engineering for placement of Bidders on AML and analysis of vendor pre-qualifications Performs vendor shop audits and analyses Vendor Quality Control Manual Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous QA/QC surveillance of materials and equipment Investigates and adjusts construction and customer concerns and complaints regarding vendor quality Interfaces and coordinates as necessary with construction QA/QC Hires and maintains proper inspection personnel level resources Assigns Project Inspection Coordinator(s) to Projects Develops QA/QC man-hour budgets for proposals and monitors ongoing project man-hours Contracts with domestic/international Third Party Inspection Agencies and monitors assignment performance Assist other Business Units with QA/QC vendor surveillance needs Performs other duties and projects as directed by Vice President Supply ManagementHigh School Diploma/GED required; Tech Certificate
