Sr. Quality Engineer

Our client has an immediate need for a Senior Quality Engineer in Asheville, NC.  • Provide tactical leadership and activity for six sigma and lean principles by identifying improvement opportunities in quality systems, processes, products, regulation compliance, and manufacturing savings. • Maintain the overall quality system/department in the facility by assuring that current personnel, procedures and practices are appropriate to comply with customer requirements and specifications, and appropriate standards and regulations.  • Responsible for corrective and preventive actions, and the process for managing for internal, external, and supplier non-conformances and audits.Education:  B.S. in Quality, Engineering or equivalent.Experience:  Minumum of 3 years in a similar role in a munufacturing environment preferred.Knowledge:  Knowledgable and experienced with quality engineering practices.  (CQE/CQM/CQA certifications beneficial.  Training in the concepts of quality control and quality assurance responsibilities.  Familiarity with continuous improvement programs and methodologies.Skills:  Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office products.  Comfortable using a variety of software packages, preferably Minitab and AS400.  Able to think clearly and analytically to resolve theoretical and statistical problems.  Ability to work with a wide range of people from production to senior management; must be able to develop positive working relationships.  Active listening skills are essential.
