Sr. Supervising Engineer

This position is that of Senior Supervising Traction power Engineer for the Systems Engineering Division of PB’s Transit and Rails Systems Technical Resource Center. The work of this group runs the range from Design, Design Review, Construction Phase Services and Construction Management for railroad and transit projects.

 

A few examples of current Projects being worked on by the Traction Power Group include revising and relocating the LIRR’s traction power system in their yard that will be below the new Nets Arena in Brooklyn; designing a new traction power system for the Hampton Road Light Rail Transit System in Norfolk, Va.;  traction power system design for California high Speed Rail, Caltrain; a proposed 220 mph operation and construction management for the new 2nd Avenue Subway in New York City.

 

This position is intended for the hands on supervising engineer who in addition to supervising other engineers, will share in the design work. A minimum of ten years in the railroad (preferred) and/or the transit traction power industry is required. Experience supervising a traction p[ower design group is a must. The ability to be involved in more than one project is an asset that is needed to handle this position as is the ability to do some business development tasks and network with clients, traction power manufacturers and other consultants. A list of past projects must be included with application. This list must include a description of the project, the applicant’s role in the project, end user, installed cost and other pertinent factors that will allow PB to evaluate the applicants level of experience

 

Membership is an industry group such as AREMA is a plus.

A Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering is not required if the individual has the right experience but is preferred. Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to become registered is a plus.

 

The ability to immediately work in this country is required.
