Sr. System Engineer

Keithley is currently seeking a System Engineer for our Solon, Ohio offices.
The selected candidate will work in a multidisciplinary team with new product development, manufacturing, and other professionals to develop industry-leading test equipment used by the fastest-growing electronics companies. He/she will work to ensure customer satisfaction, facilitate new product introductions, and execute cost reduction strategies, redesigns, and enhancements of existing products. We are looking for an experienced professional who is skilled at analog and digital hardware design and troubleshooting. Experience in system engineering of products containing distributed software, embedded firmware, and hardware components is a very strong plus.
Knowledge and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required, along with two to six years of progressively responsible experience in a design engineering position. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is desirable.
This position performs engineering tasks related to system design, system integration, and system-level specifications. The candidate will research, design, and implement board-level electronic circuits and systems as defined by internal and external customers. The applicant must be proficient in reading, debugging, and writing code running on embedded platforms as well as user-level software. Specific skill sets include, but are not limited to: analog and digital hardware design, power supply design, SMU design, signal conditioning design, PCB board schematic capture and layout, A/D and DAC design, signal integrity considerations for low-current and AC applications, part and component evaluation and selection, theory of operation, technical specifications, and error budgets. Must also perform engineering tasks related to planning, developing, and adapting methods to improve DfX, manufacturing production quality, yields, and efficiency. Proficiency in statistical analysis is desired.

Cadence & Eagle schematic and layout tools; SPICE simulation experience; C, C++, Perl software languages; Windows, Unix, and Linux Operating Systems; FPGA design (VHDL); version control systems (RCS, Perforce, PVCS); Microprocessor experience (Motorola, PIC, Atmel); Communication protocol knowledge (RS-232, GPIB, PCI, VXI, SPI, I2C)
