Sr. Wayside Signaling Engineer (Engineer A)

Union Switch & Signal Inc, (US&S) has an immediate need for a Sr.Wayside Signaling Engineer (Engineer A) for its headquarters in Pittsburgh PA or the Hamilton, NJ location:

 

Requirements:Must hold a BS Degree in an Electrical Engineering discipline Master’s degree preferred7+ years of experience in Train Control SystemsExperience includes basis sub-system designs, programming and field test support

 

Responsibilities:Conducts research into various fields of engineering and engineering phenomena to investigate, evaluate and apply results of this research to resolve practical problemsResponsible to provide professional guidance and technical information to assigned personnelOrganizes coordination with other engineering and operating groups as requiredPrepares logic design concepts for both standard and unique situations to meet specific project requirementsChecks complete engineering design packages to ensure conformance to specific project requirements and established principles and proceduresIdentifies and quantifies all material required to meet specific project requirements following established principles and proceduresPrepares quotations and indicates possible cost/deliver problems and includes recommendations to deal with these problemsRequisition preparation is in accordance with US&S procedures and is accurate as to technical specifications using the appropriate part numbersIndependently prepares estimates for assigned projects following established guidelines and procedures. Estimates should clearly define all risk and contingency itemsPrepares submittals which are clear and concise, contain the appropriate documentation, and identifies deviationsReviews test procedures to ensure compliance to specific project testing requirementsLeads less senior personnel while conducting and analyzing all project specific testing requirements in accordance with an approved test planIdentifies training requirements and assists in the development and implementation of both internal and external training programs
