Stress Engineer
The Stress Engineer will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of the Structural Analysis department to establish the structural integrity of detail components, assemblies and installations by performing the following duties:
Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, techniques an develop test procedures Write reports and check reports, performed by other engineers, to support certification effort for aircraft modifications Resolve problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies or concepts Analyze technical trends, human resource needs, and market demands to plan projects Confers with management, program management, sales and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products and/or customer requested modifications Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests Advises management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, interdepartmental relations or safety Provides direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities
Minimum Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of industry
accepted Computer Aided Design (CAD), Finite Element Modeling (FEM); Project Management, Contact Management Systems and related Spreadsheet and Word processing software packages. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering from an accredited university and 5 plus years of applicable aerospace experience. Structural DER and /or a Professional Engineering (PE) License is a plus for this position but is not considered a necessity.

Jet Aviation Engineering Services, L.P. is located at Kestrel Air Park, 20 miles north of the San Antonio International Airport and employs 26 people, including engineers and administration staff. The company was established to deliver quality services to third-party modification centers and to support Jet Aviation's completions centers, located in Basel, Switzerland and West Palm Beach, Florida, by providing a coordinated engineering and certification process.
