Salary: $62k and up depending on experience

Our innovative foundation designs have proven to provide a more economical project design resulting in significant cost savings to the owner.

Operating primarily in the Southern coastal region, we have performed subsurface investigations for high-rise buildings, warehouses, industrial plants and marine facilities, including deep pile and structural slab designs for piers, bulkheads, and offshore structures.

Our involvement with river and coastal development has included the investigation and design of ports and harbors, levees, containment dikes, roads, bridges and highways.

 

Required Skills:

§  Must have at least 5+ years experience as a Structural Engineer

§  Must have a PE license

§  Must have Civil/Structural Engineering Degree

Civil/Structural/Foundation Engineering Firm

Located in New Orleans, LA

 

Due to an increase in work load post-Katrina, this firm, known for its impressive, state of the art construction, is looking to bring on a new staff member to add to the team! This firm has been around since the 1940s, always with a focus on commercial civil, structural and foundation engineering, working extensively with various architectural firms in the city. Clients of this firm have included: Army Corp of Engineers, Municipal Agencies, Harrah’s, Canal Place and the New Orleans Aquarium. This firm does a minimal amount of residential work. They have been integral in developing the skyline of Downtown New Orleans.

 

Your role in the company:

The chosen candidate will report to the President and will work with him directly. This person will be in charge of the structural engineering for a wide assortment of large commercial projects, they will need to be someone who can adapt quickly from one project to the next. At this firm the work changes rapidly but the employees do not; it is a smaller firm with a real “family” feel. Occasional field trips will be necessary. Firm offers 100% paid health benefits and a year end bonus based on company performance. Salaries are negotiable and competitive with the market rate.

 

Responsibilities:Design of expansions, additions and new structures upon old builidings or from the ground up with the intention of providing a structure both economically feasible and pleasing to view and use. Perform checks on post tensioning and reinforcing iron drawingsDesign concrete spread footing and pile cap foundations, two-way slabs, one-way slabs, post tensioned slabs and beams, beams, columns and walls, Design steel beams, composite beams, x-bracing, columns, base plates, connections and stair framing, Design wood beams and columns, Design masonry walls and pedestalsUtilize the following software: Staad Pro, AutoCad 2000, PCACol, ADAPT-PT and ADOSS, Generate schematic estimates for projects



Deal Breakers:Must have a degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringMust have a steady work history (no job-hoppers please).Must be proficient in AutoCAD



Desired or Preferred skills:Prefer candidates with a PE, not required Prefer candidates with experience in a wide variety of materials such as concrete, wood and pre-steel because this is a firm that utilizes all different materials for their projects.
