Position Description:

This position offers you the opportunity to work with a diverse and highly qualified team of design and consulting professionals on a wide range of challenging and interesting projects.You will have responsibilities to work on a multi-discipline engineering team engaged in the engineering of major modifications to an existing nuclear power station. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of activities, including structural analysis, structural steel, concrete, foundations, component supports, and equipment achorage design. You will also be involved in design and analysis for complex load conditions, including seismic, wind, thermal, pressurization, and blast effects. You will be interfacing with clients and Sargent & Lundy management in the execution of your design activities.This position is located at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station just outside of Phoenix, AZ.

Qualifications:

BS or MS degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.At least 3 years of engineering experience working on power plant or industrial design and/or modification projects. Experience with commercial analysis and design software such as STAAD, SAP, SAFE and Mathcad, and knowledge of steel and concrete design codes are required.Good written and verbal communication skills are required along with computer proficiency. Candidates must successfully complete a background investigation.
