Our Mechanical Analysis Department in our Equipment Development and Mechanical Systems (EDMS) product line specializes in conducting structural analysis studies for a variety of government and commercial clients. Position Responsibilities This entry level position requires participating in multi-disciplinary research programs in the area of structural mechanics/analysis for a wide variety of government and commercial clients. Required Qualifications -BS degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering, nuclear engineering, or engineering mechanics. - Course work and familiarity with finite element methods is required. -The position requires strong computer programming skills in computer languages such as Fortran, C++ and Java. -Sole US citizen with the eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret security clearance. In addition, to these technical skills, the candidate must have good communication skills and be comfortable presenting the results of their work in front of an audience. Furthermore, the applicant must be an effective writer, able to communicate the results of their work in written reports. Preferred Qualifications While not required, a Masters or PhD degree would be viewed as a positive attribute. Course work at the graduate level in advanced mathematics, numerical methods, solid mechanics, fatigue and fracture, and material science is desired. In addition, course work in statistics, probability, and reliability analysis methods would be preferred. Related work experience would also be preferred. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
