Student Services Representative

STUDENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE, Student Financial Services (SFS), to join a team of self-directed representatives responsible for delivering financial, academic, and general information services. Will perform complex and specialized duties in support of administering student financial services and operating the Student Services Center; but will be cross-disciplined in diverse functional areas, including financial aid, registrar, student accounts, student and parent loans, and student employment. Will serve a client base consisting of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students and their parents and spouses; alumni; faculty; staff; employers; donors; federal and state agency representatives; and financial administrators. Will function as a high-level individual contributor or coordinator of multiple projects, working both independently and as part of a high-performance team; and be accountable for the end product of own work and for building customer confidence in SFS and the Institute as a whole.

REQUIREMENTS: one to two years' customer service experience in a fast-paced, transaction-based service organization or equivalent. Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills in order to function autonomously in highly visible position, subject to constant customer approval. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking aptitudes needed; as is ability to multitask with special attention to prioritization. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information requiring discretion and judgment. Must be an active listener who is able to document client interaction accurately. Ability to take initiative, be flexible, and adapt to change important. Must possess advanced and varied computer software skills and be adept at learning new program and software skills.
