Honeywell currently has an exciting and challenging Engineering Supervisor position available in its Columbus, OH facility, supporting engineering design and strategic platform development initiatives for S&C’s Sensotec and Lebow product lines. The successful candidate will lead a multi-discipline engineering team, providing significant technical contributions in support of new load cell, torque and pressure sensor products in a high mix, low volume Test & Measurement market segment. Key responsibilities of the position include: Participate in teams that define customer requirements Develop and select concepts Design and transition new products to production following a 5-phase new product introduction process Manage engineering orders for standard, modified standards and custom load cell, torque and pressure sensor products, for a high mix, low volume Test & Measurement business Direct project planning, technical management, product implementation, schedule adherence and product cost maintenance activities Interact frequently with customers, both internal & external, to ensure project cost, performance and quality meets or exceeds expectations Responsible for the execution of departmental goals, including financial commitments and product performance results Assess ongoing technical abilities of team members and ensure technical work of team members is correct Maintain departmental budget and metrics Actively champion business strategy & initiatives to promote a customer-centric culture Deploy appropriate Design for Six Sigma tools and methodology throughout the design process Ensure team member training and certification goals are achieved Conduct annual employee performance evaluations and goal setting process Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching and career planning throughout the year Act as a role model and mentor, fostering strong team spirit that enhances employee engagement, retention and productivity Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering discipline, especially electrical, mechanical, industrial or physics Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in new product introduction and development engineering, including at least three years as a sensor design engineer Minimum of 2 years experience in a direct leadership position, or indirectly as project/program manager Previous experience successfully leading design and development of new products in an engineering environment Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional international travel
