JOB DESCRIPTION
The New York City Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP), Bureau of Water Supply is seeking an experienced Supervisor and Section Chief of EH&S Compliance / Associate Project Manager, Level II.

The selected candidate will work for the Eastern Operations Division, Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Compliance Group, Katonah office.  The candidate will serve as the Supervisor and Section Chief of Environmental Health and Safety Compliance for the Eastern Operations Division. Candidate will be responsible for compliance oversight and implementation of departmental EH&S policies and procedures, and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, City and local laws and regulations. Candidate will oversee and coordinate all fiscal and procurement matters as they relate to compliance with applicable Environmental Health and Safety Regulations and will oversee and supervise all personnel involved with Eastern Operations' compliance and training program relating to EH&S. Candidate will oversee all environmental auditing, accident investigations, spill investigations (petroleum and chemical), environmental sampling (air, water, and soil) and field oversight for work zone safety, fall protection, scaffolding, trenching, etc. In addition, candidate will act as liaison among the other Agency entities and regulatory authorities.  

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Two (2) years of full-time satisfactory experience in supervising employees performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating or expediting, on engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $ 1,000,000 or more, and either:

1) A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, and two (2) years of full-time satisfactory experience in project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating  or expediting, for engineering and/or architectural and/or landscape architectural projects; or

2) A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six (6) years of experience as described in “1” above; or

3) A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus any combination of the experience and/or college education as described in “1" above to make up the equivalent of six (6) years of education and experience.  One year of credit will be given for (a) each 30 semester credits of college education leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration; (b) a Masters degree from an accredited university in one of the disciplines described in “1” above; or (c) a valid New York State license as a Professional Engineer, Registered Architect or Registered Landscape Architect.
